A little History...

In November 1947, the U.N. General Assembly voted to partition the British mandate of Palestine into two territories that were envisioned as future states - one predominantly Jewish, the other Arab. Six months later, on May 14, 1948, hours before the British withdrew, the state of Israel was proclaimed and immediately recognized by the United States and the Soviet Union.
At that moment 54 years ago, the Palestinians had a state, or a territory designated for a creation of their state. If reason had governed, two small nations might have thrived as neighbors at peace. But it was not to be.
On May 15, one day after Israel's declaration of statehood, the Arab regimes of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria set their armies in motion with the stridently declared objective of driving the Jews into the sea. History shows they failed.
The Arabs had 250 million people; Israel, 3 million. The Arabs had 1.5 million square miles of territory; Israel, 7,500 square miles.
The Arabs failed again in 1956 at Suez and, even more decisively, in the Six Day War of 1967, which ended in humiliation, especially for Egypt, whose soldiers threw down their weapons and fled on foot back across the Sinai, with some 10,000 perishing in the retreat.
The final failure was in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, which began with an Egyptian and Syrian attack on Oct. 6, the Hebrew Day of Atonement and the 10th day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
After four wars and tens of thousands of Arab and Israeli deaths, the Arab states had enough. In a series of historic blunders, they ensured the Palestinians' continued statelessness. Having spent lives and treasures to no point, Egypt and Jordan agreed to peace.
The Israelis did not take any land from the Palestinians, but won it in battle from the Arab nations after being attacked, so there are no "occupied territories." Through those 25 years of confrontation and 28 troubled years since, no Arab country except Jordan has allowed Palestinians to immigrate in significant numbers, extended rights of citizenship or committed resources to relieving the misery in the refugee camps.
About 2 million Palestinian refugees have lived in camps in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt since 1948, and about 1 million live in the West Bank and Gaza. If the oil-rich Arab regimes and the Palestinian Authority have such compassion for the refugees, why do they leave them in camps?
Israel has absorbed 2 million Jews from the Soviet Union and the Arab nations, at great expense, yet there are no Jewish refugee camps.

Venting!!!

The boxes are pretty much unpacked and my house has started to look like a home. We started school already 2 weeks ago. We got a puppy, a germand sheperd and her name is Tota. I have met most of my neighbours. Found a great Homeschool group. Me and Agusta are attending the Base Chapel Bible study on wednesday mornings. I know were Costco and Wholefoods are. I have even found some yammy coffee shops that have European cakes.
Sounds so settled. But I am not. My heart isn't here. I am dying for a cup of Tea with a close friend. I am so lonely for the deep friendships I had in Vegas. It feels so unreal that I am here. I just want to drive back so badly it's not even funny.
Agusta cried tonight she was missing her friends and I couldn't hold back my tears. I know excacly what she is going through because I am going through the same thing.
Well thats all. I am done venting. It is time for a fat bowl of Icecream and a chick flick!!!!!!
And a little note to my friends. If YOu didn't get the I MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!

A Good Informative and Interesting website

I haven´t written in a while. I have a lot on my mind these days. The biggest to be the upcoming move to Albuquerque and everything regarding that. But the most pressing to my heart these days are what is happening in the world. I have taken great interest in learning more about the situation in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank and neighboring countries. I wanted to share this blog site with whoever is interested. I am in the process of reading this mans books and he is moving up to my top then author list. www.joelrosenberg.blogspot.com
I am having a little trouble with writing my own book these days. The more I dig into the events of the months I am writing about the more troubling my spirit gets. I think my mind pushed those memories back to a place they wanted to me to forget about. I am though determined to get it out there. So I can share my story with my family. They deserve to hear it..

On another note for those of you that don´t know there was a big earthquake in Iceland today. It was measured 6,7 on the Richter. My family is all safe and so are their houses..!!! For those of you that know them.

Boys and underwear!!

My little guy who is 2 years and 4 months old is out of diapers... He hasn't had an accident in his little spider man undies for 4 days.. The one thing though is that since he doesn't have any hips and no butt!!! He looks already like a teenager with pants hanging halfway down and underwear showing.. And for the record I have come to realize that it is cute on little 2 year olds to have the pants hanging like that but not so much on 15 year olds!!

I can't believe my boy is growing up so fast by the way...!!!
